The AVP VCS Welding Cell is a specialized, highly automated industrial unit designed for precise and repeatable MIG/MAG welding of cylindrical and rotationally symmetrical workpieces ranging from Ø172 mm to Ø404 mm in diameter. The entire welding process takes place in two distinct stages across two integrated stations within a fully enclosed safety cabin equipped with automatic lifting doors and an extraction hood connection.

Station Workflow:

Station 1 (Assembly & Tack Welding): Designed for assembly and circumferential tack welding of two component halves. Custom positioning fixtures with centering pins guarantee precise angular alignment between parts.
Station 2 (Automated Double-Sided Welding): An integrated pneumatic manipulator automatically picks workpieces from the inlet chute (storage capacity of 5–8 pieces) and clamps them into the main fixture equipped with brass mandrels and cooling fins. Welding is performed simultaneously using three robotic torches (one for the main circumferential seam and two angled torches for hubs or internal structural elements).
Automation & Control: Driven by 9 electric servo motorized axes featuring cross-slides for precise torch alignment. Operated via a 10-inch color touchscreen HMI with program recipe storage and real-time sensor diagnostics.
